Silky Releases a Limited Edition Gomboy Kuro to Celebrate the Gomboy’s 40th!
This is a 1 Production Run, Never to be repeated
Originally embraced by Japanese carpenters, the Gomboy quickly beame indispensable to arborists, trail crews, and outdoor enthusiasts everywhere. Today, this easy-to-carry pruning saw remains Silky’s best-selling saw in Japan, a top seller in the U.S., and a trusted tool for anyone who values efficiency, strength, and precision, from campers and trail stewards to homeowners and property managers who need to clear limbs and other debris.
The blacked-out Gomboy Kuro is a Gomboy Curve, which was introduced in 2015. The Curve is an evolution of the classic straight blade Gomboy folding saw, but with a curved blade for more cutting power. The Gomboy Kuro has the Gomboy 240's taper-ground blade with electrical induction hardened teeth set in a triple-edge, non-set tooth design for low-effort sawing. Scraper-shaped GOKAI-ME teeth efficiently clear sawdust and deliver top performance in rip, cross, and slant cuts. The blade’s locking mechanism has two positions for inline or flush cutting. The 9.45-inch black oxide blade is also glare-free. It attaches to the Kuro’s non-slip composite Outback handle, now in stealth black.
The Gomboy Kuro embodies everything that makes Silky exceptional and its quality is a reflection of the patience, skill, and dedication of the Japanese craftsmen who build Silky saws. Whether you’re clearing storm debris, maintaining a trail, camping deep in the backcountry, cutting dimensional lumber, or simply pruning at home, the Kuro offers the perfect balance of power, portability, and control. More than a tool, it is a work of art built to be used and admired.
As with all Silky saws, the Gomboys and the Gomboy Kuro are produced in Japan from raw materials sourced in Japan. Get yours while supplies last.

The Silky Gomboy is built tough for off-roaders, campers, bush crews, and outdoor pros who need a saw that performs reliably in the wild. Its 240mm large-tooth SK4 high-carbon steel blade slices through medium to large branches and even bone with minimal effort.
The non-slip rubber handle provides a secure, vibration-absorbing grip in wet or rugged conditions, while the compact foldable design makes it easy to carry in your pack, toolbox, or vehicle.
Lightweight yet professional-grade, the Outback Gomboy is designed for efficiency, durability, and adventure-ready performance.
The Gomboy is only 240mm which makes it a great in between sized saw! We have found the Gomboy really surprising and bats well above its weight for usefulness around camp, clearing over hanging trees and getting into tight spots
Campers - Cut firewood without lugging an axe
Hikers - Clear trails, collect firewood, and keep moving
4WDers - Remove branches jammed in your driveline or bashing into your panels
Small light weight, compact, Sharp and Reliable
BLADE LENGTH:240mm Curved
FOLDED LENGTH:270mm (10.63 inch)
WEIGHT: (288g)
Taper ground to reduce resistance for smoother, easier and faster cutting.
The teeth of the blade are heated and hardened to stay sharp three times longer than non-hardened teeth.
Featuring 4 cutting angles along the blade for rip-cutting, cross-cutting and slant cutting, leaving a smooth surface every time.
Blacking plating allows entire blade, including the teeth, to be coated with a unique, highly durable Nickel / Tin blend.
It provides longer blade life and improved cutting performance.
1. Quick Wipe Down
After you’re done, just brush or wipe off any sawdust or sap. No fancy cleaning
routine needed.
2. Keep It Dry
If the blade gets wet, dry it before folding or sheathing.
3. Light Oil (Now and Then)
Every so often, give the blade a quick spray with a household oil (WD-40 or
CRC). That’s it, nothing constant. Lanolin will work great and is widely available
4. Swap the Blade When Needed
Silky blades are super tough, but when the teeth finally dull, just pop on a new blade. No sharpening required.
