1. Quick Wipe Down
After you’re done, just brush or wipe off any sawdust or sap. No fancy cleaning
routine needed.
2. Keep It Dry
If the blade gets wet, dry it before folding or sheathing.
3. Light Oil (Now and Then)
Every so often, give the blade a quick spray with a household oil (WD-40 or
CRC). That’s it, nothing constant. Lanolin will work great and is widely available
4. Swap the Blade When Needed
Silky blades are super tough, but when the teeth finally dull, just pop on a
new blade. No sharpening required.
1) Silky blades are made from premium Japanese steel and are impulse-hardened. This gives them exceptional sharpness and durability — but it also means they can’t be resharpened the traditional way. Once a blade becomes dull, it’s best to replace it with a genuine Silky replacement blade.
2)Why can’t I sharpen the blade myself?The teeth are hardened to a much higher level than a normal file can handle. Trying to sharpen them will only damage the blade and reduce cutting performance
3) What’s the best option when the blade eventually dulls?
Simply swap in a replacement Silky blade. They’re easy to install, cost-effective, and keep your saw performing like new without any fussing around with files or sharpening kits
Wearing glove is advised for carrying out this small but sharp job.
1) Undo the nut and bolt (with spring washer) located at the hinge section of the handle / blade.
2) Remove old blade
3) Insert new blade
4) Insert nut bolt and spring washer (leave slightly loose)
5) Move blade to different angles and make sure it latches correctly
6) Tighten nut and bolt to desired opening tension.
7) Go cut a tree a down or annoy your fellow chainsaw enthusiast
