Meet Tilly.

Named after Waltzing Matilda (from an Instagram contest)

We purchased Tilly as a way to do creative out there product testing.
Push our own wheeling skills to the limit.
Turn heads.
Meet new people and enter the Small but competitive Comp Truck scene in WA.

Unfortunately or maybe fortunately? we tend to spend our free time on our cars, modifying setups or looking for new things to help our camping / wheeling setup. So we can go further, faster and easier.

Giving a Tired Truck a New Lease on Life

When we picked up Tilly, she was pretty tired. The truck has been around competing in motorsport for some years now and has always considered an underdog at the events.

She had the bones of a great rig, but she needed a lot of love to get her where we wanted her to be. It’s been a massive learning curve.

Within the first few months of ownership we have completed the following work.

• A cheap (but effective) paint job to clean up her look.

• Near enough a full rewire from scratch to fix years of gremlins.

• Upgraded gauges to keep her reliable when the temperatures start climbing.

• A set of rock lights to add some funk and visibility when the sun goes down.

  • A rebuilt engine (as the old one blew the head) 3.8LT Ecotec
  • A second hand gearbox as the rear bolt mounts broke off the casing (just shows how hard its been driven in the previous comps!)
  • New race harnesses
  • New Lights here and there
  • New sensors filters some new hosing
  • New tool boxes

Tilly's plans for 2026

We have been lucky enough to get invited and help out for a few on-going community events. So you can expect to see Tilly out and wheeling at those this year within WA.
The first of which is in September
We will be using Tilly for on going product abuse.
You might catch Tilly out at the Powerlines, Brunswick or down in Margaret River on the odd occasion for either advertising commitments mixed in with wheeling.

Tilly's 2027:
Hopefully our first competitive event under the Ember Adv Gear banner.
We just want to get a lot of seat time in before committing to an event so we can work out the gremlins and our own limits.
