How to pick the correct sized Kenetic Kit:

Picking the right kinetic recovery rope isn’t just about strength it’s about safety and performance.

1) Your rope should never be rated below your vehicle’s GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass). Going under-rated risks rope failure and serious damage.

2) At the same time, choosing a rope that’s too heavy-duty can reduce its ability to stretch properly, making recoveries harsher and more difficult.

3) The best rule of thumb (as approved by product safety groups and Australian Gov Bodies) is to pick a rope rated at 2 to 3 times your GVM, enough strength to handle the load safely, but still flexible enough to do its job well. The GVM can be found on compliance plate of your car or online. 

Example:
If your 4WD’s GVM is 3,000kg, aim for a kinetic rope rated between 6,000 and 9,000kg.

Avoid the temptation to oversize too much as an excessively heavy rope won’t stretch right, and that defeats the purpose of kinetic recovery.

Aim for that sweet spot of 2-3 times your GVM to get a recovery kit that’s safe, reliable, and ready for real-world use.
