Powerlines 4x4 Event at Mundaring WA, A Bloody Good Day Out
Last Saturday, 19 September 2026, we headed out to the Mundaring Powerlines in Western Australia for a few hours of four-wheel driving, good laughs and plenty of getting stuck.
Hosted by Dicey Ricey Off Road, the event took place just off Flynn Road at the Mundaring Powerlin
es, bringing together around 70 vehicles for a few hours of wheeling through one of Perth's well-known 4WD areas.
And honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better day.
A big thank you to Dicey Ricey Off Road
First things first, a massive thank you to Dicey Ricey Off Road for putting the event together and getting everyone out there.
We were stoked to be able to help coordinate a few things behind the scenes and get behind the event with some prizes and support.
It's exactly the sort of thing we think is worth getting behind, bringing the WA 4WD community together, getting people out on the tracks and creating a good environment for everyone to have a crack.
And after seeing how the day came together, we can't wait for the next one.
$5,000+ in prizes
We wanted to make sure there was plenty happening throughout the day, so we helped give away more than $5,000 worth of prizes.
There was a bit of everything, including:
- An Ember Brunswick 60L Duffle
- Carbon Offroad recovery gear
- First aid kits
- First aid training sessions
- Awnings
- Shower awnings
- And plenty of other gear and prizes
But as good as the giveaways were, they weren't the best part of the day.
Finally putting faces to the names
One of the biggest things we loved about the Mundaring Powerlines 4x4 event was getting to meet so many people we've already spoken to online.
We spend a huge amount of time chatting with people through Instagram, Facebook and email, but there's something completely different about finally getting to say "g'day" in person.
That's one of the things we love most about the WA 4WD community.
It's not just about vehicles and gear. It's about the people you meet along the way.
Everyone had a crack at the Mundaring Powerlines
We spent roughly 3–4 hours wheeling around the Mundaring Powerlines, watching everyone take on different tracks and try different lines.
And there was a bit of everything.
We had everything from standard little Subaru Outbacks through to heavily modified 4WDs and full-blown competition trucks.
Everyone had a different setup, a different approach and, in some cases, a very different idea of what looked like a good line.
And that's what made it so much fun.
You could sit back and watch someone have a crack at a line, see what worked, see what didn't and then watch the next person try something completely different.
A very stuck 200 Series
Of course, no good day of four-wheel driving is complete without someone getting themselves into a bit of trouble.
At one point, a 200 Series LandCruiser got a little over-confident and sent it into a particularly nasty, flooded bog hole.
It didn't quite go to plan.
Luckily, we were able to jump in and help get him recovered pretty quickly.
But what we loved most wasn't the recovery itself.
It was what happened afterwards.
He brushed it off, had a laugh about it and kept wheeling.
And that's exactly the attitude we love.
Because that's four-wheel driving.
Sometimes you pick the wrong line. Sometimes you get stuck. Sometimes things don't go according to plan.
You get yourself out, have a laugh about it and keep going.
That's the kind of spirit we want Ember Adventure Gear to embody.
More than just a 4WD event
Days like this are exactly why we love being involved in the WA 4WD community.
It's easy to sit behind a computer, answer emails and post on social media.
But getting out onto the Mundaring Powerlines and actually meeting the people who support Ember is something completely different.
We got to talk gear, talk vehicles, hear about people's setups, watch people tackle the tracks and spend a few hours doing what we all enjoy.
No fancy stuff.
Just 4WDs, tracks, mates and a good day out in WA.
A massive thank you again to Dicey Ricey Off Road for hosting the event and to everyone who came along, had a chat, helped someone out, had a crack at the tracks and made the day what it was.
We're bloody glad we got behind it.
And we can't wait for the next one.
See you out there. 🤙
